These beautiful nativity boxes are known as Retablos which translates as Altarpiece.
Each Retablo measures 7 cm wide with doors closed to 14.5 cm with doors fully open by 7.5 cm high and 3.5 cm deep.
The figures are beautifully crafted and are made of a traditional mix of plaster, cooked potato and newspaper and then painted in wonderful vivid colours and lacquered to finish.
They look great as a table decoration or on the mantelpiece.
